QUESTION:  What is Orthokeratology or Ortho-K?

ANSWER:  Orthokeratology or Corneal Refractive Therapy is a technologically advanced, non-surgical process, which reshapes the cornea while you sleep.  You remove the lenses when you awake and are able to go throughout the day without any other correction.  The lenses used in orhtokeratology are specially designed oxygen permeable therapeutic contact lenses.

QUESTION:  Is Orthokeratology permanent?

ANSWER:  No.  It's temporary.  If you stop wearing the lenses your vision will return to its original state in as little as 72 hours.

QUESTION:  Is everyone a candidate for Orthokeratology?

ANSWER:  Not everyone can wear Orthokeratology lenses.  The lenses are designed for individuals with low to moderate nearsightedness.  There are no age restrictions for Orthokeratology, which makes it a great option for everyone in the family.  However, since there are variations in patient physiology and visual needs, the decision for Orthokeratology, at any age, can only be made after a thorough eye exam and the recommendations of your eye doctor.

QUESTION;  How long does it take to reach and maintain good vision throughout waking hours?

ANSWER:  Most patients have rapid improvement in the first few days of treatment and achieve nearly their optimum vision in 7 to 14 days.

QUESTION:  Can I see with my Orthokeratology lenses?

ANSWER:  Yes.  One of the greatest features of Orthokeratology is you will be able to see clearly with your lenses on and off!
